Tap the Power of Ganesha to Achieve Success

Ganesha - Wikipedia

The oldest personal object I own, a statue of Ganesha made from Ganges River clay sits in a storage container in Reno, while I'm roaming the Pacific NW watching people's pets.

Seriously.

When I was in third grade at Mount Madonna School a bunch of people went to India with Babaji, the guru Mount Madonna Center built around. One of the community founders, Sarada brought each of the school kids a sacred object.

I got my clay Ganesha and have kept it safe for roughly 41 years now.

Connecting the spirit of Ganesha to the real world

Roughly 20 years later, while completing my MBA at Case Western (Weatherhead School of Management) I took a course from the Gorilla.

As a self-made multi-multi-millionaire the Gorilla enjoyed teaching a Business Strategy course which was fun and focused more on practical than theoretical business, as in, how to make money.

In one lesson he told a story about a meeting he had with a business guy at a restaurant in New Orleans, a billionaire many times over. The Gorilla asked him what the secret to his billions were, and the guy laid out a pretty specific approach.

It centered on the use of 3-rings binders. Seriously.

I don't know how important the binder part is ... what's inside are goals, one for each binder and on the first page a list of things that would prevent you from reaching the goals. Obstacles.

The 'obstacles' are then prioritized and the top 5 selected in terms of how significant they are.

Finally, a plan is made from a brainstorm of 25-50 things you can do to overcome each major 'obstacle'.

That's it, that's the whole method this guy used to earn billions. Seriously. Once he figured out this system, he applied it over and over to a bunch of different goals.

The Symbol and Secret of Success

Ganesha gives us the power by letting us in on a secret, the surest way to success is to take care of what's blocking you.

Personally, I created 3 notebooks, one for each of 3 big goals, not long after taking the course. I didn't even need to refer back to the binders much or get detailed about following the plan. My goals stood out clearly and I could see how my activities moved me towards them. Within 3 years accomplished all of them.

What did I learn?

When you have the power to make your visions become real, it's important to be careful and specific about what you wish for.
