Favorite MHH Episode: Copywriting 101 | Ethical Copywriter + Email Strategist Karsen Murray is one that came at a perfect time for a number of reasons. Her perspective on growing email lists and community was so helpful, but her transparency on her own mental health journey was powerful. As a creative business owner with ADHD I can say firsthand that there are seasons where I am on fire with ideas, creativity, and intense motivation. Then there are those days where one thing can completely disrupt the flow. Working in a traditional work week was always a struggle because it did not favor the ebb and flow of mental health - or the fact that I'm a creative night owl! When the world is silent, my best ideas seem to come to life. Hearing Karsen talk about planning for days to accommodate the ups and downs was such a beautiful reminder that we don't always have to be "on" and that we can't be there for our clients and community if we aren't there for our own needs.

Favorite drink to cheers with while listening: Titos and club soda with an orange slice for the toast! Otherwise it's usually my lemon preworkout drink since I typically listen in the morning.

What is one thing you know now that you wish you knew when starting your career? People will try to convince you that asking questions, spending time building relationships, and saying "no" are going to damage your reputation. Ignore them. Ask more questions. Keep caring. Say no.
