Tap into Mental Clarity by Training Your Brain and Finding Peace-of-Mind More Often
Tracey Gazel
?? I help leaders improve mental clarity and focus, sleep better, feel calmer with less stress, be present at home and enjoy life more.
Mental Clarity:
When life gets busy, we tend to go faster.
There’s more to do. The day feels shorter. Our list of things to do seems never-ending.
It can feel as if we’re running from one thing to the next and don’t even have a minute to spare.
When life feels very busy and rushed, rather than move faster the key is to pause.
Mental clarity, and the ability to complete all your tasks from an optimal state-of-mind, comes from a calm, focused brain state.
Achieving clarity can be as simple as practicing brief “mind resets” throughout the day. Studies indicate that taking a 5-minute break to focus on deep breathing or a short walk can reduce stress hormones and restore cognitive focus, improving decision-making and problem-solving.
In the moment this can seem tough – it doesn’t feel like you have 5 minutes to take a break.
But by resetting your mind with a brief 5 minute break, you will send fresh oxygen to your brain boosting your capacity to think clearly and bring your best self to whatever you’re working on.
Try it as an experiment this week to see if it helps improve clarity and focus. ?
Peace-of-Mind:
This week is your reminder that you are not your thoughts.
You are the quiet, calm center that is observing your thoughts.
Every person has inside of them a calm center that is always quiet, content, and peaceful.
It cannot be taken from you, broken, or given away.
It is always available to you.
Because it is who you really are.
It is the space of mental clarity –
When your mind is clear, quiet, and open.
And it is the space where those ‘A-ha’ or lightbulb moments come from – telling you exactly what you need to do in that moment.
Your thoughts are habitual.
Your calm center is peaceful.
When your mind gets busy, remember that you can always come back.
P.S. I'm starting a new round of Calm Clarity training in November.
Calm Clarity will cover how to:
? Optimize sleep and wake up rested
? Fall back asleep in the night with ease
? Quiet your mind to access mental clarity in any situation
? De-escalate triggering situations and be less emotionally reactive
? Reduce overthinking and improve confidence in decision making
The time commitment is 10 minutes per week.
If you would like to hear more about the training, send me a private message on LinkedIn and say "I'd like to learn more about the training."
