Taoism and Qigong
Taoism is the oldest religion in China, and the only main religion originated from China. Taoism theory was from the philosopher Lao Tzu of 500 B.C.E. who wrote the book “Tao De Jing” and introduced Yin and Yang balance theory in nature.?Tao is the origin of universe and evolved into human, society and nature.
Taoism believe in spiritual immortality, or immortal after death, through comprehensive life and spirit training.?Taoism became national religion under Mongolia Empire, after Genghis Khan consulted Taoist Qiu for immortality method.
The spirit training is to follow principles of Taoism: inaction (follow nature law or trend of society), simplicity (life attitude) and living in harmony with nature.
The life training is to build body health via ancient alchemy (Taoist way to get immortality pill, but toxic element containing heavy metals), and practicing Qigong or Taichi.
Taoism uses a metaphor of lamp for the comprehensive life and spirit training: oil is life, and light is spirit. If there is a lamp without oil, the lamp will not be able to shine; if there is only oil and no light, the oil lamp cannot be used for illumination.
The purpose of Taoism is to teach people to accumulate enough oil and the method of lighting the lamp. Then life will be full of brilliance.
