Tan's Topics - a NEW LOOK and available to speak!

Happy New Year to all The ESEA Echo subscribers and my LinkedIn connections and followers! I hope you are all well. 2023 has been an up and down year for me but if there's one personal thing I've been proud of it's the continuous development of my public speaking skills, which I was so grateful to be able to do at Culture Shift . In the last year I have taken on nearly a dozen public speaking opportunities, having spoken for organisations such as Agent Academy , Atlanta Group , Bibby Financial Services , Direct Line Group , and Glaucoma UK . My aim this year is to more than double those engagements.

But in order to push for those, I felt I needed to promote these services more directly and boldly. So without further ado, I bring you the exciting announcement that I have revamped Tan's Topics (complete with an updated logo and branding)!

You may already be aware of Tan's Topics - a personal blog I have written for several years - but now it is so much more than that. It's a place to showcase my skills and experience beyond writing and position myself as a must-hire speaker and consultant for any organisation wanting my expertise. I can offer talks and work on understanding ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) issues, addressing barriers faced by LGBTQ employees, creating a speak-up culture, preventing and tackling negative behaviours in the workplace such as bullying, discrimination and harassment, being an active bystander, using inclusive language - and the list could go on...

The blog will continue as it is and will still be a go-to source for my unique brand of entertainment reviews through an ED&I lens or my commentary on representation and current affairs, as well as just being a fun place to air my musings, travel guides or short stories. I am also offering freelance writing services (see my current writing and journalistic portfolio here), which you can enquire about, but the new and improved Tan's Topics will hopefully usher in a new chapter for the coming year and subsequent years.
