TANJONG PRIOK PORT: ONE BUSIEST PORT IN INDONESIA

Tanjung Priok Port, one of Indonesia's busiest and most significant maritime gateways, has reached a significant milestone in its digitalization journey. As of the end of August 2023, the port has issued over 28,562 Single Truck Identity Documents (STIDs) and implemented Driver Identification Data (Driver IDs) for 7,648 truck drivers. This achievement underscores Tanjung Priok Port's commitment to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and connectivity in the Indonesian logistics sector.

STID Registration Statistics

Based on data obtained by logistiknews.id, as of August 27, 2023, a remarkable total of 879 trucking companies have applied for and registered their STIDs at Tanjung Priok Port. Out of these, 700 companies have already been granted STIDs, while 179 companies await approval, highlighting the industry's enthusiasm for this digitalization effort.

Driver Identification Data (Driver ID)

Alongside STIDs, Driver ID was introduced for 7,648 truck drivers to enhance connectivity and streamline operations at the port.

What Is STID?

STID, which stands for Single Truck Identity Document, serves as a unique identity for each truck operating within the port. This electronic system is seamlessly integrated into the port's IT management system and contains a comprehensive database comprising technical specifications of trucks and their drivers, vehicle registration numbers, and ownership information of the transport companies.

Expanding STID Usage

The success of STIDs for container trucks prompted their expansion to non-container trucks, benefiting all port operations.

Regulatory Framework

STID implementation aligns with government decrees, with an extension granted for non-container trucks.

Challenges Remain

Despite these initiatives, some truck drivers at the port are still unaware of the Driver ID program. This gap in knowledge can be attributed to the limited awareness among certain trucking companies regarding the importance of registering and enhancing the competency of their truck

Empowering the Trucking Industry

As digitalization continues to transform Indonesia's logistics landscape, the gradual integration of STID and Driver ID systems at Tanjung Priok Port represents a crucial step in streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency within the trucking industry. This initiative aims to empower trucking companies, improve transparency, and contribute to the overall logistics ecosystem in Indonesia.
