Tampa Bay is the Fourth Highest Growing Population in the Nation
The U.S. Census Bureau reports the Tampa Bay area is booming with the fourth-highest population growth rate in the country.
The bay area grew to three million in 2016, adding almost 65,000 new residents through natural increases and migration.
Other areas in Florida are vastly increasing as well. For instance, Orlando grew with nearly 60,000 new residents last year. The Villages, just northwest of Orlando, had the nation's highest overall growth rate at 4.3 percent.
Three Florida metro areas were among the nation's leaders in population increase, in addition, another three were in the top 10 for overall growth rates.
