Taming the complex mix of cloud identity and compliance
When I'm meeting with business leaders across Asia I often get asked about the increasing burden of compliance. As every industry undergoes digital transformation, authorities are increasingly stepping in to ensure better security and privacy around the data being created and stored along the journey.
Emerging compliance mandates, such as those set out by the monetary authorities of Hong Kong and Singapore, call for better identity management and access control within a broad range of regulations and recommendations.
As an example, in its annual cost of compliance report, Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence found 67 per cent of firms in Asia (and 77% of firms in Australasia) expect the volume of regulatory information to increase in the coming year.
You can read more about that research here.
Adding to the challenge is cloud. Industries are being modernised not only with systems they control, but also cloud services they connect to and collaborate on. Having easy visibility of your identity landscape is the first step. You cant manage what you cant see.
This leaves business leaders in a thorny place - the need to modernise and meet compliance, but are often unaware of the best approach when it comes to controlling and managing new access control requirements. Too little access and you slow business operations, too much and you run the risk of a data breach or audit failure.

Improving compliance with an identity platform
The good news is with the right identity management platform you can improve both data security, compliance obligations and easily manage identities whether human or machine, employee or third party.
An identity management platform can enforce and manage consistent security policies and compliance controls across multiple environments, which is today’s hybrid IT reality.
At Saviynt we have developed an intelligent, identity-centric governance solution to ensure compliance with policy while maintaining strong security across all IT environments, including Cloud. We have packaged control frameworks that allow you to easily assess where you have gaps in your compliance and then in a couple of clicks take action.
Taking advantage of an identity management platform is a good example of how improving compliance can also improve business processes.
The Saviynt Enterprise Identity Cloud combines multiple identity management capabilities into a single cohesive platform. Unify controls and risk management for every identity, app, and cloud across your business. Onboard people, apps, and machines in minutes and selectively turn on access & governance functionality.
Don't be daunted the complexity of compliance identity and cloud. There is a better path forward with an identity platform and it would be great to discuss your compliance and business improvement needs today.?
