Tame Your Gremlin To Unleash Maximum Impact

Tame Your Gremlin To Unleash Maximum Impact

Have you ever felt like you are faking it and somehow accidentally tricked everyone into thinking you know what you are doing?

Ah, the doubting gremlin in your mind is a meanie who can tear you down fast.

Especially when you are in the first year of pivoting to a new endeavor and still honing your program.

Yesterday, I had the weekly call with The Badass Entrepreneur's Club, made up of my Pivot Accelerator graduates who are gunning for $1M+/year of revenue.

One, who is a legend in her industry, a decorated c-suite executive, and an innovator who truly has changed the world of tech, was battling that doubting gremlin.

Even though she is a badass genius in every respect, we had to have a chat about owning her genius.

She was at a conference this week and told us about this sense that since she has left the c-suite and gone on her own to help others to rocket up the corporate ladder, her c-suite peers look at her like she has dumbed herself down.

Like she is leaving her previous skills on the table.

When I asked her if she feels she has, she said "absolutely not!" - yet, the sense she got from them was gnawing at her.

Everything she has done in her high profile career, she is leveraging presently.

The work she is doing now has set her soul on fire - even her daughter has told me so when she had the opportunity to pop her head onto one of our zoom calls.

The work she has done already with her program for the elite companies who have hired her for her program has transformed the lives of the tech employees she worked with.

It has propelled them forward in their careers and ultimately in owning their own genius.

And it has given her so much purpose and energy to keep fulfilling this purpose.

At any point, she could throw her hat in the ring and land an illustrious and high paying CIO position.

But, instead, she has chosen to follow her genius and focus on what truly rocks her boat.

How could someone of this brilliance and legendary status be bothered at all by anyone else's opinion?

If you are doing something different, bringing in a new methodology to your industry, you will be viewed as a little off your rocker.

Disruption is not well-received and is often down-played as a passion project that won't pan out - when it does pan out, then everyone will say they knew you would make it.

Go figure.

But while you are bringing a new approach to life, if surrounded by other people's negative opinions, no matter how passionate you are about your endeavor, it can be enough to ignite your fear gremlin to whisper words of doubt that your pivot was the right choice.

Owning your genius doesn't mean bidding adieu to your talent, experience, or even professional history.

It's about letting your genius - what you do very best - take the wheel, finally creating the impact you always knew you should, while leveraging your kickass supporting cast of skills.

Nothing you have learned is ever wasted.

Leveraging it in a new way is not dumbing yourself down - in fact it will challenge you to work harder and refine your genius in a way that working for someone else, even in a c-suite position, will never do.

In fact, you will be surprised at the moments you pull out past wisdom when helping someone achieve the same path you have.

So, how do you quell the feeling like you are faking it and somehow accidentally tricked everyone into thinking you know what you are doing?

How do you finally kick that mean little gremlin of doubt to the curb?

Package your genius, embrace your uniqueness, and confidently disrupt through your innovative program - no matter what anyone else says.

You will need to stand firm in your pivot, wade deeper into the well of your genius and become more masterful at helping others with it daily.

So, it's time to develop your rhinoceros skin against others' opinions, tell your gremlin to "zip it!", and fearlessly unleash the impact you know you are meant to create.

Ready to rock your genius?

Well done Angela

Value-adding article, Dr. Angela. The key lies in unwavering self-belief and surrounding yourself with a support system that understands your vision. It's acknowledging that discomfort and doubt are part of the journey but not allowing them to deter your progress. Each step you take, each challenge you overcome, and each innovation you bring to life is a testament to your dedication.

Your words hit home for many, I'm sure. ?? It's incredible how negativity from others can sometimes seep into our own doubts
