A Tall Order - Gain by Breaking your Bones

Bone Breaking Surgery is fast gaining popularity in India. The Ilizarov technique in which a bone is cut and then lengthened gradually with the help of metal wires and rings.The technique is widely used to correct deformities congenital or accidents, poorly healed fractures but people are increasingly using it for cosmetic reasons to gain height. Complete recovery post surgery takes 3-4 months.

Although the new bone takes the quality and shape of the host bone and remodels around the natural structure and the muscles, nerves and skin form naturally as they would after a fracture. However side effects such as swelling of the limb,neurovascular complications, considerable pain, infection and osteoporosis at the fracture site can also set in a few patients
