Talking Talent Newsletter: September 2023

Another month, another edition of the Talking Talent Newsletter.

If you’re down here in the Southern Hemisphere the thaw is well under way. For our northern cousins, light those fires and start to get comfy.

It’s been another great month at VideoMyJob and Talking Talent with some amazing gatherings between our team and our customers and outward into the wider community.

So here’s our monthly recap of the month that was, September 2023.?

And please, if you’d like us to give you a shout-out on our monthly newsletter, you can message us directly on LinkedIn or email through to: [email protected].

Anything from your thoughts on contemporary issues affecting TA/EB professionals, news and events or even shining the light on someone else in the community. We want to know about it!

And remember, be sure to subscribe, tell your talent friends, and hey, feel free to let us know what you’re up to.

Let’s get into it!

Talking Talent Live with Alex Her

After a brief hiatus last month, we are back with yet another episode of the ever-growing Talking Talent Live podcast! After our last episode where we met an Aussie Employer Branding pioneer, Brie Mason , we now get her sitting next to Jay (virtually) as our newest guest host.

And that brings us to this month’s brilliant guest, none other than Alex Her . He is probably one of the most well-known figures in Employer Branding and Talent Recruitment. And that’s global.

This month we sat down with Alex who dialled in from Austin, Texas to talk to us and our live audience.

Alex’s list of accomplishments is long enough to fill the show itself. As a Co-Founder of The EB Space , Alex fosters a global community whose goal is to help employer branding and recruitment marketing people around the world to connect and learn through great discussion, events and resources.

When he's not building a worldwide network, Alex is Head of Global Employer Brand at GoDaddy, a volunteer at the Talent Brand Alliance and a contributor at the Employer Brandwagon – and that’s just from the first page of his LinkedIn profile…

With such a huge wealth of knowledge, insights and experience across employer branding, recruitment marketing and talent acquisition, it’s fair to say this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

In this episode we covered:

?? Why and how to commercialise the employer branding function to improve stability.

?? Activation and content strategies to better engage and motivate passive candidates.

?? Measuring and communicating outcomes that drive the TA lifecycle (not just impressions and clicks).

Check it out below!

Co-Lab Live with Tayla Noble

If you haven’t noticed, we’re kind of crazy about video. So, we made another live-stream podcast!

Co-Lab is a VideoMyJob quarterly live event where we interview one of our brilliant customers and get their insights into not only how they realise their employer brand and talent acquisition initiatives, but how they achieve that with VideoMyJob.

Hosted by Megan Alexander (Product Marketing Manager) and Bodin Pollard (Customer Success Lead).

Just last week we had the lovely Tayla Noble from PPD Search on to discuss how they have taken our innovations and created an entirely new use case. Something we love to see.

If you missed it, don’t worry, here are the links to the video recordings.

Be sure to subscribe on the link below for our next session:

ATC Conference 2023

It’s that time of year again for the annual ATC (Australasian Talent Conference) 2023.

The Talent Community are coming together on 22nd + 23rd November 2023 to connect, learn and grow and we’re taking over all of Sydney’s Luna Park!

Talent Acquisition is taking centre stage. The 2022 Internal Mobility trend has acted as a catalyst for Talent Acquisition and Talent Management to unify and redefine the shape and scale of the Talent Function. They are poised for the next great leap to provide value beyond external hiring. Will we arrive by purpose and design??

ATC 2023's theme is: Aligned Strategies + Empowered People + Impactful Outcomes.

Over two days, you’ll have access to 27 sessions run by Talent Leaders, Development Trainers, and Industry Experts, 9 on the Main Stage and 18 Breakout Sessions.?

Plus, enjoy the Tech & Supplier Expo, games, rides, social drinks, and a whole lot of Talent Community fun and connection.

So, clear your calendar for the 22nd & 23rd November and get ready!

We won’t be there this year but here’s a little throwback to our very own David Cervelli who represented us last year (and we couldn't have been prouder).

Your Success is Our Success

It goes without saying that we absolutely love our customers here at VideoMyJob, but we think they don’t get nearly enough recognition for all the hard work they put into bringing their video strategies to life.

So that ends now.

Bodin Pollard and Nino Lancette have got together to give a big shout out to our top customers this month to ensure they get the recognition they deserve.

A huge congrats to:

?? Bryan Furtado and Karthi Govender from APM for getting their Story Feed live on their career site (the first from our Activator Program!)

?? Tayla Noble from PPD Search for not only joining this quarter’s Co-Lab Live event but also sharing how her team uses VMJ to provide tips and insights to both candidates and employers.

?? Jennifer Bennett and Hannah Tafoya, CDR from Los Alamos National Laboratory for providing us with essential feedback to help us improve our tool and Story Feed widget.

?? Heather Maclaurin from Capgemini for coaching people across her organisation on how to generate authentic video stories and feel comfortable in front of a camera.

There are so many more wins we see from our customers every day, so watch this space every month for more awesome stories.

And that brings us to the end of the September edition of 2023’s Talking Talent: The Newsletter.

We’re sure you found something interesting to help propel you along your journey of Employer Brand and Talent Attraction!

Be sure to subscribe to get future editions straight into your notifications and let anyone who you think would like to be a part of this community know.
