Our New Content Queen: Talking Talent Live with Rachel Kennedy

If you caught our most recent live podcast session for #TalkingTalentLive, you would have had such a great time listening to Rachel Kennedy talk about all things content.

Jay Rusden , Brie Mason and Rachel covered a lot in the hour.

One key takeaway we noted was around the forty-minute mark, where Rachel talks about how important it is to get outside of your comfort zone and develop a mix of content styles.

Rachel spoke on the value that video has had on the strategy work she undertakes with her clients. And with that, she outlined some key must-do’s in content creation.

  • A lot of companies have one mode of content or channel that they’re comfortable in, and it can be a difficult hurdle to get past. But it is so important that we all do. And a lot of that comes from understanding what your candidates want to know and how best to ‘show’ them.
  • Know where your audience is and make content that fits. Are they reading articles on LinedIn? Write articles on LinkedIn. Are they consuming video content on social media? Make video content for social media.
  • Creating video content provides extensive potential to repurpose and reformat content to get the most amount of impact. A long-form video piece can be made into small social media sized clips. A video can then be transcribed into a blog. A quote can be turned into a quote tile or testimonial. Do this and you’ve got yourself a content engine.

“Video breaks this fourth wall. You know what I sound like, you know what I look like, you can see my mannerisms. There’s so much engagement we get from video that you just can’t from a blog.”
- Rachel Kennedy

And if that wasn’t enough, she has graced us with an #EmployerBrand #ContentAudit Checklist:?

Our product team have been on fire this year. We’ve made out platform better and better every iteration but this most recent development is worth the call out.

Now, our customers can export their video content directly into Canva and thus have even more creative control over how they create their content.

Team Spotlight: Coming Out Swinging

One of our great Customer Success team members Aravinda E. recently stepped outside of his comfort zone and into the boxing ring.

In the word of our colleague, Alexandrea Farha :?

"We love to celebrate personal wins here at VMJ just as much as the professional ones and the amount of dedication Ara has shown leading up to this has been inspiring."

We love to celebrate our people at VideoMyJob, in and out of their roles.

So, if you happen to be a customer and have a meeting with Ara coming up, ask him how he went.
