Talking to self does not indicate any mental illness. Indeed talking to mind can be considered perfectly normal and help the individual acknowledge his or her own feelings.
But to be noted is that the individual should restrain from talking to mind negatively, harshly and in a way of judgmental, because this may lead to depression or anxiety. In a state of depression the individual’s feelings will be associated with feelings of hopelessness and discouragement.
Also the individual should not try to stop talking to mind. Because if the individual forces to stop talking to mind it will usually make the mind worse. Instead if the individual acknowledges his self-talk and accepts it, he or she will be better positioned to deal with.
To conclude this talking to mind series,
1. Pay attention to your thoughts
2. Stop judging yourself.
3. Become aware of the internal state of mind.
4. Don’t try to stop the thoughts.
5. All the thoughts may not be true believe this rule.
