Talking to the man in the mirror?
Another off-beat subject from Ayushman Khurana. A lovable, one-time watch; though I believe the subject could have been handled more sensitively.
The story revolves around a transgender female and how no one, her friends, society, even her mom, approves of her… existence. They are condescending, mostly abusive.
Offscreen remarks in the audi were strangely similar to the ones on-screen.?
Manu is courageous but she is dealt out a very rough hand for being oneself!
What makes us so Judgmental that we stop being human!?!
I would say, it’s the training that we get. From the word go, we are trained to compete and that somehow has come to mean ‘not accepting what is’ and that non-acceptance extends to self. As it worsens, we become so critical of ourselves that our self-deprecation starts to flow through the brims and the seams… to others.
These judgements, silent or loud, do not help anyone; they destroy as much of us as they do the target.?
So, what to do? Where to begin?
By diagnosing the problem
Interestingly, the loud ones, not many due to social pressure, have it easy. You, and maybe they too, know that they have a problem and a solution needs to be worked on.
As a first step, ‘Complete with all that's outside of what you are not in acceptance of’, the way Manu Munjal does.
Talk, Read and Watch, basically shift it from a ‘don’t know’ to a ‘Know’. ?
The issue is with the others(most of us) who can act being accepting of most of the things. They are well behaved, cultured, cool. They can be dealing with the same issue and apparently not needing any help. It’s under the carpet and rotting and the smell is disturbing and we go on to increase the strength of our deo, leaving our near-ones to fend for themselves. ?
If left unattended, we may have everything but life. The life that we lead will be in constant pursuit to ‘prove’. Even a strategic rest comes with guilt.
So, start by
Recognizing all that you are critical of; not missing even the smallest of the things, like
·????????People, situations, finances, politics, religion or anything.
·????????Things that are masquerading as a joke or concern for others.
and lastly, seeing if you are in gratitude; the real one, for most of your day. ?
One may ask, why? Sab theek hi to chal rha hai!?
Once you unconditionally accept yourself, you are at peace with yourself, your experience of life changes radically.
Your performance in all spheres of your life improves and that too without being burdensome! ?
You stop chasing the Mirage and instead start getting the Rainbow!
You are in ‘Bliss’; ‘Samadhi’/meditative state all through the day! ?
Isn’t that awesome!
Isn’t that life!
