Talking Books: Asian American Authors in Conversation, featuring Elizabeth Miki Brina, author of Speak, Okinawa

Wednesday, December 10, 2021, 6pm to 7pm (EST)

The Chatham Square Branch of the New York Public Library welcomes Elizabeth Miki Brina, author of Speak, Okinawa, to its popular, author-led book discussion series, "Talking Books: Asian American Authors in Conversation." Speak, Okinawa?has received tremendous critical acclaim. The Washington Post review offers the following: “Brina recounts, with piercing candidness and clarity, the almost claustrophobic world of an only child and her parents . . . The memoir is also a portrait of the devastating effects of imperialism and racism on a person’s identity, self-worth, and relationships—and offers a perspective on how a person can combat these legacies.”
