??Talents ready to trade their payrolls for more flexibility
78% of remote employees globally are willing to take a pay cut to continue working from home, a new survey finds.
What we find particularly interesting is the fact that during the “forced” practice of remote work, many employees liked this mode of work to the extent that they intend to continue working remotely, even despite the desire of companies to return them to the office settings.?
The numbers speak for themselves: according to a new survey, conducted by OSlash, a productivity software company, 78% of remote employees globally are willing to take a pay cut to continue working from home.?
“Nearly half of all remote workers surveyed chose more money as a key incentive that could sway them back into the office, with employees seeking a bonus of at least $500 to return to office work” the survey found.
Employers have no choice but to adapt. Sixty percent of employers would offer employees a hybrid work schedule if they declined to return to the office, 20 percent would let them continue to work remotely, and 19 percent would fire them, the survey revealed.?
Jokes aside, talents dictate new rules of the game in the labor market, making flexibility their priority, thus making office more of a burden than a benefit.?
?? ?? ?? ??Is remote work the royal solution for parents??
Many parents are considering quitting if they are denied telecommuting by their employers. This trend is now taking hold.
Let's take a closer look at working moms' demands for remote and flexibility and how telecommuting and flex conditions help digital nomad parents:
- According to a Catalyst study (2021) that surveyed 7,400 employees worldwide, mothers (with dependent children) are 32% less likely to quit their jobs if they are offered the opportunity to work remotely.?
- BUT let's not be mistaken. Real flexibility, the one that employees are now demanding, is not, for example, telecommuting arrangements decided unilaterally by the employer (let's say, by way of illustration, two days a week and only from home). It seems to be the exact opposite. The vast majority of employees surveyed on the subject believe that they should be able to choose when and where they work.
- According to Hila Klein's statistics, 70% of the world's digital nomads are between 35 and 44 years old, 13% are between 45 and 55, 45% are married and 70% are parents.
As we can see, the spread of telework and more generally flexible working arrangements (four-day week, etc.) goes far beyond the framework of company organization alone. It contributes, in the end, to giving us the possibility to choose our own lifestyles. In this sense, it is indeed a societal revolution that we are currently experiencing.

??Soft and hard skills remote talents should harness in order to stay productive and efficient
In Part 3 of the interview with Nadia Harris, we briefly talked about what skills talents should have to be able to work remotely efficiently.
Our favorite part is "The philosophy behind remote work, in general, is not just sitting and waiting until someone tells you what to do".?
Besides values and philosophy, remote talents should have hard skills:
- Tool knowledge (Google Drive, One Drive, Slack etc). You do not have to know each and every management tool but you need to understand the methodology behind that software. Such tools help to track the process, goals, productivity, and key milestones.
- You obviously need to have hard skills to perform your role in the company well
- If you don’t have the hard skills required for a job, then do not apply because “maybe they will hire me”.? Probably that’s not going to happen! Specific skills are a MUST.
In terms of soft skills:?
?- Resourcefulness - being able to be independent
- Not asking millions of questions, there are things that are easy to find. Just Google it!
?- Be self-sufficient - first try to search and find, if you can’t find then you ask
- Know how to work asynchronously?
- Be open-minded and know the cultural bias?

????? Introducing #JOBGETHERFaces ?
We continue to introduce our amazing Jobgether team! Meet our tech wizard, bright and funny co-founder of Jobgether, and CTO Alexis Rodríguez ! We asked him to share his remote experience & share some tips that might be valuable for remote workers:?
?? What do you like most about your job??
?? I love to be able to create things, face challenges and implement solutions to complex problems, and help in some way to other people at my work
?? What is the best place for your remote work??
?? My studio, but sometimes I go to some café for a change ??
?? What professional recommendations can you give those starting remote and want to develop in your area of expertise (IT)?
?? Organization and focus are the key. Make a list of all your tasks, prioritize and take one at a time. It is easy to lose focus in a remote environment, so try to have planned pauses of 15-20 minutes every 2 hours with an alarm to return to work.?
??Spain to introduce digital nomad visa
Governments that realize the benefits of attracting a remote workforce into their countries are to be the first to profit from local economic growth and will make the most out of it in the future!?
And Spain is soon to be no exception joining other 15 European countries in issuing digital nomad visas for non-EU residents!
A scheme will include tax breaks and non-EU citizens will be eligible to stay up to five years in Spain.?
What else is envisaged by a future Spanish digital nomad visa?
?? It is expected that the visa or essentially a residency permit will be valid for one year, applicants will be able to renew it for up to 5 years?
?? Close relatives - a spouse or children, will be eligible to join the applicant in their new sunny journey?
??You would be able to apply if you are outside the European Economic Area and prove you have been working remotely at least for 1 year
??Applicants should demonstrate that they earn enough to cover the living expenses and stay self-sufficient
?? For the first 4 years holders of digital nomad visas will be taxed at 15%, rather instead of 25% base rate.
Wouldn't you move to sunny Spain and enjoy the low costs of living there??
That’s all for now! See you in two weeks!
Truly yours,?
