TalentPool: Focussing on our Four Strongest Sectors

6 months ago, TalentPool began our move into what we call internally the ‘Grad+’ space.

After three successful years operating in the graduate market, following demand from our 500+ clients, we wanted to expand our platform to candidates with a little more experience.

We have identified four areas where TalentPool has really delivered

It has worked well. In October this year, more than 30% of total volumes through the platform were Grad+, up from just 5% in Q2. And we managed to attract thousands of new candidates looking to grow their careers through TalentPool.

However, specialisation is important. We’ve always known this. And it becomes ever more important as you climb the career ladder.

These past few months have been invaluable: We have worked out where our natural strengths lie and learned about the dynamics in new markets. As a result, we have identified three 'Grad+' areas where TalentPool has really delivered - and these will now be our focus:

  • Sales & Business Development
  • Marketing & Content
  • Operations & Account Management

These functions have represented more than 75% of our Grad+ volumes through TalentPool over the past few months anyway - so in a sense, not all that much is changing.

And of course, we will continue to push ahead in the space our brand is already well known for; Graduates.

But the message is new, clear: this is what we’re really good at. And everything else? We really must say no.

So watch this space; we expect to continue our expansion by adding new segments in 2019. And for the time being, we look forward to continuing to help our clients to grow their teams in our four areas of specialism.
