Purchasing Manager?

What’s a common mistake you see people make in your line of work??

“A common mistake I have seen would be awarding the least expensive vendor. One of my favorite quotes by Benjamin Franklin is - "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low prices are forgotten."

?

If you have one piece of advice for someone looking to minimize the cost of building a home, what would it be?

“Dial in as much as you can before you start building. Changes while building always cost more. Having an excellent builder that can help guide you through the process makes all the difference.”

What’s a common misconception about what you do for work? Why??

“‘Anyone can do it’. It takes years of experience to learn enough about every aspect of constructing a home that you can perform successfully.”

Dan Klaassen?

Draftsman ?

Favorite part about working at JayMarc?

“The people. It’s a fun work environment!”

If you had any piece of advice for somebody from your job perspective, what would you say? Common mistakes you see?

“Pay attention to heights and spacing because it’s critical in getting permits passed. And drafting-wise, clean drafting. Which means your lines all connect, there are no empty buckets and not a bunch of double lines.”?

Favorite way to decompress??

“Going on walks, working out, going to the driving range.”

Randal Larsen?

Custom Architectural Design Manager?

What is one piece of advice for somebody that you see in your line of work??

“Not keeping a budget in mind, because we don’t always have the resources. Sometimes people design too much and then have to come back and redesign everything.”

What’s a common misconception about what you do for work?

“Everybody asks me, ‘oh, so you must know a lot about math!’ and that’s not always true. You don’t have to know the math, there are some rules of thumb and that dictates a lot. You DO need to know proportioning and the relationship between numbers.”

What is the most treasured thing (person, item, hobby) in your life and why?

“My family. My wife and two step-kids. They are the center of everything I do and I am super grateful for that because I know what it’s like to not have that.”?

Nick Lund

Custom Purchasing Manager?

What is the most treasured thing (person, item, hobby) in your life and why??

“Family (my immediate family and my girlfriend) as I would not be the person that I am today without them in my life.”??

?

What’s one industry secret you can indulge us with??

“Things are constantly changing in the construction industry and we deal with issues and adversity on the daily. Once I took this to heart and started accepting that some things were out of my control and to really focus on what I could control and change, it made everything much more enjoyable.”
