- What inspired or motivated you to move to Detroves Travels? The first inspiration came from the look of the Detroves Travels Website with the social media pages. Secondly, it was on the first interview day that I felt like I stepped into a new universe.
- What were your initial impressions when you first arrived? I thought the process was very complicated.
- What were the biggest challenges you faced during your transition? First and foremost it was the very cold climate due to air conditioning. Secondly regarding the process of operation.
- How did you overcome these challenges? The staff is very friendly and attentive. They assisted me in learning things that I was not aware of and identifying potential issues that might arise in the operations. Also, I made a great effort to understand the company procedures and found out everything is very well planned to cover 99% of the loopholes. I switched seats with one of my colleagues to avoid being chilled :)
- ?? How did you adapt to the new culture, both in the workplace and outside of it? After a few weeks, I understood the company culture and then adjusted to it.
- How has your professional journey evolved since you joined Detroves Travels? Detroves Travels is the best place to work for those seeking more knowledge and experience. There’s something new to learn on daily basis with the support of a talented team.
- What opportunities for growth and development have you encountered? I have gained more knowledge about Sri Lankan hotels in every part of the country, whether it be 3*, 4*, 5* or boutique hotels. I have more rapport with reservations, sales, guides, and tour operators. Also, I have considerably improved my language proficiency and gained good knowledge about tourism for Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Dubai, and Oman.
- ?Have you faced any obstacles in your professional journey? How did you tackle them? People working at Detroves Travels are next level. Sometimes it was a bit hard to understand the why factor of a process. But when asked I was explained the logic behind it in the simplest possible manner. I see obstacles as opportunities, I work smartly to achieve them.
