Talent or Skill? Neither.

Talent is given naturally and can manifest in different shapes and ways. You could be talented at sprinting or you could be talented at analyzing numbers. No matter what it is, YOU are talented at something...

Skill is the opposite, it comes from hours and hours of beating on your craft and ruthlessly exercising self awareness when it comes to internal feedback. What this is not, is momentary/short term, this is consistent/religious pursuit of increased ability in a focused area of life.

Being someone that grew up thinking it was possible to be talentless, I'm now finding ever increasing fulfillment helping others uncover their talents and hone skills in the spirit of changing their state in life. Over the past ten years I had the privilege of leading and coaching ~ 80 sales people. I can say without any hesitation or doubt; Anyone can accomplish anything regardless of how much talent you had from the start and regardless of your current skill level.

It is a simple question; what do you want? what are you willing to give up to get it?

The first part, very hard question and the other requires immense discipline over time to execute. As we go into 2021 having spent the past 10 months reacting and adapting to the world of COVID, NOW is the time to decide where you want to go and what did you spend time/energy on last year that you will now devote to getting where you want to be.

This is a bit of what i'm thinking about over the next few weeks and imagine others are doing the same.
