Thomas Edison said "Genius is 1% Inspiration and 99% Perspiration", to buttress the point that high-performance is an outcome of Creativity and Discipline!
I assure you that consistent results takes grit!
Talent is 1-Kobo; and not an exclusive commodity as some people think. The fact is that everyone is talented at something. On the journey to Genius, two companions - creativity and discipline are both success factors. Performance does not exclude either of them. To be consistent in achieving results, talented people cannot rely only on their creativity. They must discipline their spirit, soul and body to achieve results.
Discipline has many expressions - focus, diligence, attention-to-detail, excellence et al
Many talented people are unable to achieve great feats and results because they rely solely on their creativity. They do not put in the work needed - learning, training, practice, skill-up, follow-through, result-drive et al. As employees, they are not passionate about improving themselves; they live on old glory! They believe having talent makes them exclusive to going the extra-mile. As entrepreneur, you find such people relying only on their strengths. They do not put in the hardwork to build depth in areas of talents. While Talent may create some buzz around their potential, overtime the level of performance they deliver is determined by their level of discipline
High-performance in any profession is achievable - with creativity and discipline!

6 年Absolutely agree. I have always maintained that talent is overrated and hard work and consistency trump talent when talent relies only on itself.
