- UK businesses warn Labour government’s tax-raising budget will hurt hiring and boost inflation
British businesses took a bruising from Finance Minister Rachel Reeves’ bumper tax rising budget on Wednesday, with a series of new levies applied to employers. Goldman Sachs raised its forecast for U.K. core inflation, citing changes to employer NI contributions as a key driver.
- A research from Professor
Nick Bloom
highlights that Workers With More Education Value WFH More, Younger Workers Value WFH More Than Older Ones, By Mid-2024: 12% of Full-Time Employees Were Fully Remote, 61% Were Full-Time on Site, and 27% Were in a Hybrid Arrangement. A highlight of some of the roles we've seen in the market. Overall the market is fairly busy especially in the USA and when you look at the broader WFP and PA landscape. 2 周I think there's another prong to people staying put; changes in philosophy to internal talent. Specifically, companies' investment in redeploying talent - prioritizing organic growth through internal talent movement, increasing opportunities to those within, and leveraging skills across different parts of the organization. While it doesn't lead to net new retention (one role closes, one role opens) - it's not always 1:1.

2 周On retention and attrition, I think we're seeing a lot of people cling to current roles following the late 2022 through present (?) period where many companies that historically drove employment, especially in tech, shrunk or froze. Data (14% fewer people are finding new roles within three months) and anecdotes suggest that reduced voluntary attrition is more a symptom of shattered employee confidence than loyalty.
