- As flagged on the awesome Talent Edge Weekly there is a new 26-page report by The Burning Glass Institute on how GenAI will impact industries, companies, and jobs; shares questions organizations should be asking in response ??Generative AI and the Workforce?
- With thanks to the brilliant Nick Bloom; Harvard study on the impact of remote work. It evaluated the impact of the US Patent Office's roll-out of work from anywhere (WFA). Due to capacity limits this was expanded randomly, generating a natural experiment. Key output measure is total-actions, which is the number of patents examined. ?Clear data showing how well managed fully-remote can boost productivity.
- 2024 CIO Sentiment Survey : “Respondents of last year’s survey painted a clear picture of stretched teams inadequately supported by necessary systems and tools, with understaffing and the talent shortage cited as top challenges. ?Less so in 2024, with survey data suggesting staffing-related challenges remain, but the pinch has eased. As funds begin to resolve their talent shortage, they are conducting net hiring increases in risk management and compliance staff in a complex environment–particularly mid-sized and large funds.”
- Singapore Tackles Talent Gaps with Shortage Occupation List: An In-Depth Look Recent parliamentary discussions spearheaded by Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh have brought Singapore's innovative approach to addressing labor shortages into the limelight.
