Talent Acquisition & Our Perception By Others.

As in-house talent experts, we should be acutely sensitive as to what others think of us or how we believe we are perceived.  

We counsel our candidates on how best to project themselves, their experience and their brands, so they smartly grow their careers. What about us?   If smart, we heed our own advice, when and where we can.

But as a Talent Expert how do you gauge how you are perceived in the market, and how often do you think of this?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the following points:  not what you think you are,  but what you think others might think Talent Acquisition folks. 

How well are you perceived by your peers, managers, juniors  on a scale of 1-10 on the points below?

please give the reason why you are scored at this level

  1. Are you perceived as : Basically a glorified HR administrator,   1-10 ( why? )
  2. Are you perceived as : Suitably able to reflect the culture of your employers, 1-10 ( why? )
  3. Are you perceived as: Suitably able to define the business vision  and technology proposition 1-10 ( why? )
  4. Are you perceived as: Hard Working? 1-10 ( why? )
  5. Are you perceived as : Disciplined and reliable, 1-10 ( why? )
  6. Are you perceived as : Having the welfare of the business at heart 1-10 ( why?)
  7. Are you perceived as : Career focused with clear career goals 1-10 ( why?)
  8. Are you perceived as : Playing a critical role in the business  1-10 ( why?)
  9. Are you perceived as : Able to play a critical role in the business  1-10 ( why?)

Time is a critical part of our life however by going through this exercise and answering the questions you might be surprised how you are better able to develop your career and raise your stock in the business. Those of you seeking to help further, perhaps answer the above questions now with how you perceive yourself with respect to the same questions  above
