Rashesh Doshi, MD of Talent Corner, talks to Paramveer Chahal, an Interviewer from Franchise Insider about their beginning, recruitment process and the aims as follows:
1. Are you from a family of entrepreneurs? How was the idea of 'Talent Corner H.R. Services Pvt. Ltd' conceptualized ?
Last three generations of my family have been a part of the Insurance Industry. In 2002, my dad founded Talent Corner with an idea of creating an online job portal. It was in 2004, when I joined and it became an offline recruitment company. Well, it was in 2011 when we started franchising and there has been no looking back since then. The journey has been an enthralling roller coaster ride leading to success.
2. How is your brand unique ? What differentiates it from others in the market ?
From a recruitment perspective; to begin with, I would say the turnaround time. Quick turnaround time has often received appreciation from the clients. The turnaround time between 24-48 hours for our clients is certainly the USP of the company. Also, the level of ownership. When most other recruitment companies take an assignment, it's their recruiters who work on the profiles while in Talent Corner, franchise partners work on the profiles. From a franchising perspective, I would say absolute transparency. We work with honesty, keep open communication and provide correct information. The same is reflected in the testimonials as well. With transparency and integrity, we have focused on building harmonious relationships with our clients. It is noteworthy that Talent Corner is the only company in the recruitment industry in India, which has 900+ positive Google Reviews on its business page. Besides that, it's the only company which has been franchising for more than 10 years in India and has 90K+ followers on LinkedIn. Also, the company won the award for the Top 100 Franchise Opportunities in India in 2020. I give a fair amount of credit to the franchise partners for the growth of the company.
3. What is your mission and vision ?
By 2025, we aim to become a company which has 100 franchise partners, has its operations in 10 countries, and has done 1 lac recruitments. For every successful recruitment we will invest Rs. 100 for Girl Child Education, thus by 2025 we would have educated 1000 Girls.
4. Tell me something about your co-founders and their contribution ?
The set-up is run by a trio i.e., I, my dad and my mom. Mr. Bankim Joshi (My father), the founder and chairman of the company ensures that finance, compliances, technologies and strategies are in place. He firmly believes that for a successful business one needs to empower the team and that team will take the company to the next level. Mrs. Nita Doshi, Director of the company ensures that franchise partners are being taken care of and receive enough support to run the franchise lucratively. If franchise partners make money, the company automatically flourishes and makes the grade. I, Mr. Rashesh Doshi: Managing Director in the company ensures that the right and potential franchise partners come in.
5. Who and where is your target audience ?
We are primarily India centric country. Anyone who wants to do business in India is our target audience. To be specific, I would say that Corporate professionals, Home makers, Retired People and People looking for low investment business (less than 3 lac ) have been a very good target audience for us so far.
6. Share your different franchise model and the services you provide to them?
We have one franchise model and support that we provide includes taking care of their training since it's entirely our responsibility. We also take care of business development owing to which franchisees can just focus on client services or recruitment process. Well, we also take care of billing collection and GST compliance. Besides that, we also provide data base of the candidates. Basically, we create both demand and supply and they just have to invest time to meet both. The noteworthy USP of our franchise model is that it is one of the very few franchise opportunities wherein there's no recurring franchise fee that means it's a one time life time investment.
7. How many clients have you served till now ?
Talent Corner recruits for multifarious positions for varied magnitudes and sectors. Over the last several years, we have successfully placed 20K+ Mid-Senior Level Professionals with 2500+ Clients.
8. How many franchisees you have till now and how long they been with you ?
We have 63 franchisees. The oldest one has been for 10 years with us while the newest one has been for 6 months.
9. What sort of growth have you seen since inception? What have been your biggest challenges and successes ?
Since we had not been franchising for initial 8 years in the set up, the growth rate barely would be 15-25% annually. However, after franchising there has been no looking back and the growth rate has been 50-80% annually. Coming down to the biggest challenge and success, I would say that building the right team has always been the biggest challenge and overcoming the same is no less than a success.
10. Where do you plan to expand to next? Do you have plans for global expansion and scale internationally? If so, what are the countries you plan to target first ?
Owing to Covid, we intend to restrict ourselves to India only for a year. Post covid, we intend to expand to UAE, UK and USA.
