The tale of two eagles

The tale of two eagles

Many years ago, a King received two baby eagles as a gift. He was delighted and decided to hire a caretaker for them. The caretaker took good care of them and there was a strong bond which developed due to which they did not require to be caged. The King was pleased to see the babies grow, slowly and steadily, day by day, into beautiful eagles. ?

One day, he told the caretaker that he wished to see them fly into the open sky. The caretaker did that and both the eagles started flying upwards towards the sky. The first one started to fly and continued to go higher towards the sky. The second one flew for a few seconds and came back to the branch where he was earlier sitting. The same thing happened on the second as well as the third day.

The king asked the caretaker about the reason for the second one returning to the branch in just some time. The caretaker had no reply. Then the king announced this problem in the kingdom and offered a reward to the person who would make the second eagle also fly high, just like the first one. Many scholars came forward and tried but none of them succeeded.

One day, suddenly the king saw the second eagle flying high for a long time. Very happy to see this, he asked how this happened and came to know that one farmer from his kingdom was responsible for this happening. He immediately asked the farmer to come and collect his reward.

When he came, the king asked, what he had done. He replied in one sentence,” I just cut the branch on which he had the habit of sitting throughout the day!”

Do we all have such branches in our lives that we need to cut?

We all have tremendous potential and are meant to fly high, but we underestimate ourselves and do not realize our true potential. We develop habits that limit us. Many of us like being in our comfort zones and do not want to step out of that, not realizing that growth and transformation can only be achieved if we are willing to step out of our comfort zone. ???

The comfort zone is a cozy place, but nothing ever grows there. Success resides just beyond its boundaries.

Limiting beliefs are responsible for our comfort zones. They make us doubt our capabilities and potential. Identifying and challenging these beliefs are crucial steps in the journey toward success.

Stepping Out of your comfort zone

  • Begin by clearly articulating your goals and the reasons behind them. A strong sense of purpose acts as a powerful motivator, propelling you beyond your comfort zone.
  • Break down goals that scare you into smaller, more manageable tasks. Each small step taken outside your comfort zone builds resilience and confidence.
  • Accept failure as a stepping stone to success. Reframe failures as lessons, providing valuable insights for growth. Begin to view challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. A growth mindset fosters resilience and a willingness to confront the discomfort that accompanies progress.
  • Replace self-limiting thoughts with positive affirmations. Train your mind to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. Create a mental image of your success. Visualization programs the mind for achievement, reinforcing the belief that success is not only possible but inevitable.
  • Surround yourself with individuals who uplift and inspire. A mentor can offer guidance, helping you navigate uncharted territories with greater confidence. There will be countless success stories of people around you who dared to step beyond the familiar and defy limiting beliefs.

The journey to success is a thrilling adventure, requiring courage to step into discomfort and resilience to confront limiting beliefs. So, let's defy limits, shatter doubts, and embark on a transformative journey toward unparalleled success. The discomfort is temporary, but the triumph is timeless.

I am going to snitch this story Dr Rajesh ?? . While we all know that change is the only constant, change is not easily embraced cos it means rocking the apple cart. Comfort zones signal the end of growth.

Fantastic and powerful story doc !! Moving out of the comfort zone after being used to creature comforts can be very difficult. Sometimes we have to be “harsh” with ourselves to find new zones of comfort and keep repeating the process.

Nice story. I agree, it's True that we have get out of our comfort zone and limiting beliefs. As per my own personal life experience, I feel it's good to be ambitious but at the same time, we should also concentrate on our present with a calm mind. I never support being over ambitious. Working towards the goal with sincere efforts and having trust in God is a key to success. The two things which always helped me are " accept the reality" and " Expect less from life" and still work for success. By all this, a person remain neutral in all life conditions ; that's what's being taught by Lord Krishna.
