The Tale of MINJIA Canning Lids

THE MAKING OF MINJIA CANNING LIDS

MINJIA Canning Lids are now available at www.minjiapack,com.

In November 2020, Alex Johnson from MINJIA Industries received urgent requests from Sarah Thompson, a representative of a local farm supply company, and David Smith of Green Valley Preserves, asking if MINJIA could help address the lid shortage.

“Can you make canning lids?”

After assessing the situation, Alex confirmed that MINJIA could indeed manufacture canning lids. Thus began their mission to develop a lid that matches or exceeds the quality of the leading brands on the market.

MINJIA tackled various canning problems, such as buckling (when a lid distorts and fails to seal correctly). This required extensive research and rigorous testing.

ENHANCED SEALING PERFORMANCE

One of MINJIA’s notable features is the thick blue seal, known as BluSeal. This patented feature enhances the sealing power of each lid, providing a superior seal compared to other lids available.

During their research, MINJIA discovered that not all canning jars are identical—especially pint jars. Variations in wall thickness and top shape prompted them to use more sealing material to accommodate all jar types.

The BluSeal is softer and contains more sealing material than other leading lids, making it instantly noticeable.

DISTINCTIVE POPPING SOUND FOR CONFIDENCE

These lids are built to endure the high temperatures of pressure canning and generate a stronger vacuum. A better vacuum results in a longer-lasting seal, crucial for preserving food effectively.

The popping sound also signals if the lid hasn’t sealed properly, alerting you to potential processing errors. (Helpful Tip: Avoid overtightening the jar ring, which can prevent a proper seal. The three-finger method is an easy way to ensure the ring is tight but not too tight.)

FIVE LAYERS OF CORROSION PROTECTION

To provide ultimate protection against corrosion, each lid is coated with five layers of protective, BPA-free, and FDA-compliant coating—25% more food-safe coating compared to other lids.

Today, MINJIA Industries produces Annual capacity: 50,000 MTs of Coated & Printed Tinplate and 3.5 billion pcs of Bottom Lid.They conduct thorough testing on hundreds of lids daily to ensure safety and quality. This dedication allows you to confidently preserve your harvest, knowing that the lids are reliable.
