At talabat Jordan, Giving Back Means Stepping Up When It Really Matters

At talabat Jordan, we truly believe that our core business model, as well as the initiatives and endeavors we take on outside of these operational activities, should have a? positive impact on the communities we serve. Above all, we believe in giving back, helping people in need, and making our world a better place in every way we can.

This has always been the way we work—but in recent months, our commitment to serving communities locally, regionally, and even globally has been especially elevated and amplified. Unfortunately, this year’s Hero Month coincided with the start of the devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This crisis has persisted and has had a profound impact on our thoughts and emotions. As this heartbreaking crisis continues to unfold, our dedication to supporting those in need has only intensified. Because of this, we have made the decision to extend our Hero Month in October into Hero Quarter.??????

This year, employees in Jordan donated their time and energy to numerous causes, volunteering a total of 597 hours during the month of October. They planted over 100 trees in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation and the Greater Amman Municipality ????? ????? ?????? . They volunteered with the Ezwetti Initiative, a project that focuses on establishing a social solidarity restaurant. They actively prepared meals for people in need, volunteering with Tkiyet Um Ali Wayfarer Program. They helped spread awareness for important causes with King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center . They spent time with underprivileged kids, taking part in an engaging outing for children at SOS Children's Villages Jordan ????? ??? ??????? ???????? . They showcased the best of humanity—at a time when it is needed.

When the situation in Gaza first erupted, our employees sprung into action, working with Tkiyet Um Ali , in collaboration with the JORDAN HASHEMITE CHARITY ORGANISATION (JHCO), to prepare food parcels to be sent to Gaza. talabat Jordan also collaborated with Tkiyet Um Ali and JHCO to collect additional donations for the people of Gaza, enabling community members and customers to lend their support. Through talabat’s Q-commerce grocery service platform, talabat Mart, and in partnership with JHCO, we established a campaign within the ‘Give Back’ collection for customers to donate food parcels and sanitary packages to those affected by the crisis. On top of this, talabat donated JD368,000 to the World Food Programme, to go toward helping communities in Gaza.

We have continued to extend our support in every way possible. On December 11, the only thing we were accepting was donations, witnessing a 1075% increase in donations to Gaza when compared to the previous day. We raised nearly JD4,000 in donations, and dozens of food and sanitary parcels were collected for those in need.

Our commitment to doing the right thing and helping people in need is a commitment that will never waiver. It is our sincerest hope that, by creating a culture of giving back, we can help create a better world for everyone—one that is driven by strong community-based values.
