TAKING YOUR LIGHT AND LAMP UNTO STREETS TO CURE PEOPLE'S PLIGHTS

TAKING YOUR LIGHT AND LAMP UNTO STREETS TO CURE PEOPLE'S PLIGHTS

In "The Art of Happiness," the #Dalai Lama XIV said: "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive."

The #Christmas season is perceived to be the most #Wonderful time of the year. Unfortunately, things are not so Wonderful for too many of us. There is too much suffering to around. Those who have fortune on their sides would delight in practicing #gratefulness in #giving, particularly during these moments. The Bible says: " To whom much is given, much is required." For some reason, no matter how much #munificence is exercised, it is never enough to care for the neediest. #Homelessness increasingly appear to be an undelible wound on the soul of mankind. What should we do? Whom should we talk to? How could we end this stain on our mankind's #conscience and #consciousness? Isn't it unnatural for our brothers and sisters to sleep on the streets against different types of #elements and #assaults?

Amanda Gorman said: "There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” We must endeavor to see our #light, even when it is not fully there. We are intently bent on using our lamp to help those who need us.

We pride ourselves for being the #light under other people’s feet, and the #lamp unto their paths. We see potentials in those who are suffering and we wish them flourishing futures. We labor hard to #cure their #plights.

When we cease to be the mirror upon which people look to see #hope, it means our #lights and #sparkles have dimmed. How do we rekindle them? Leo Tolstoy argued: "Just as one candle lights another and can light thousands of other candles, so one heart illuminates another heart and can illuminate thousands of other hearts.” Similarly, when one heart is extinct, this extinction reverberates across hearts. The #hope we project evaporates. Working our hardest to keep darkness away and hearts illuminated is a #service to our fellow human beings.

In her book "The Light We Carry," #Michelle #Obama alludes to what she calls her "Fearful mind." She talks back to it and would not let it paralyze her. She advises that, we should invariably to #go #high and higher, by being of help through #community #engagement, and using our #voice consistently and unrelentingly. She asks: "Who are you going to go high for?"

When you make moves to go high, #fear would invade you; dark shadows would loom on your horizon. But #light is just around the corner. Beyond that #darkness there are stars and you can reach for them. Dark times are around, perpetually. They must be ignored, transcended, obliterated. We think about the people for whom we are going #high and #higher, and we get flushed with a boost of #energy, #vitality, #fierceness and #fearlessness.

We are on a #mission. Our sense of #purpose is incandescent. We refuse to be defeated by defeat. We initiate our #involvement with our #communities, and increase our interest in and interactions with our surroundings. The brightly earned #superpower leads to surviving, thriving, overcoming and winning.

When we are #uncomfortable being #uncomfortable, that is when we create empowering spaces where we are #uncomfortable being #comfortable. Thus, we realize massive action is warranted.

Won't you be #uncomfortable being #uncomfortable and refuse to fall apart and cry "Why me?"

Won't you be #uncomfortable being #uncomfortable and go out and battle to achieve your goals, dreams and aspirations?

Then, when your light starts shining loud and wide again, won't you be #uncomfortable being #comfortable, and resolve to take your light unto the streets to brighten lives?

Won't you be #uncomfortable being #comfortable when poor patient dumping and homeless dumping are going on around hospitals across towns?

What do you do with your light? What is the #cause, #mission or #purpose you would jump high and higher for?

In "The Life You Want," #Oprah surmised: “Extending yourself in compassion to another human being changes the nature of your relationship—the acknowledgment of one human being to another is what bonds, strengthens, and expands the human connection.”

#Roy T. Bennett wrote in his book "The Light in the Heart": "We are all different. Don’t judge, understand instead." Mr. Bennett continues to suggest that we should #smile more, worry less, be more #compassionate, less judgmental, get ready for more #blessings, get less stressed, spread more #love around, and refrain from hating.

As for Albert #Camus, he said in "The Plague": "I have no idea what's awaiting me, or what will happen when this all ends. For the moment I know this: There are sick people and they need curing."

#Compassion is the key that opens doors to the island of #Meaningful life. #Compassion is the key that opens doors to the kingdom of #happiness#Compassion satisfies the #spirit and soothes the #soul.

Would you be #uncomfortable being #uncomfortable? Then, when all dust is set, would you be #uncomfortable being #comfortable?

Whom will you go #high, #higher and #highest for?

Happy Holidays 2022, everybody!

I think it's very important to look into the worlds of others and break our own bubble. We often lock ourselves in our own world and forget that many people around us may be going through difficult situations. By looking into the worlds of others and trying to understand their perspectives, we can learn a lot and develop greater empathy and compassion for others. In addition, supporting others, either with a gesture or with something material, can be a very effective way to show them that we are there for them and that we care about them. In a world where we sometimes feel alone and disconnected, the support of others can be very valuable and help improve our emotional well-being. In short, leaning into the worlds of others and supporting them can be very important to develop our empathy and compassion and to building a stronger and more united community.
