Taking Time for You!

Taking Time for You!

Second week back to work - done!

First week home schooling - done!

It feels like last March, but different, because we’ve been through it before and know what to expect.

One thing I have definitely taken from last year is the need for self-care.   Like so many other working Mam’s (Dad’s, Grandparent’s, Carer’s - particularly front line workers!), I am balancing a job, parenting, teaching, running a household, healthy eating, exercising and everything else, in the midst of increasing uncertainty and worry.  The lines of work and home life are definitely blurred.

It is essential that we find time for ourselves.

It’s like the oxygen on the plane - we need to put our mask on first and then help others. We need to replenish ourselves first to be able to take care of others.

Self-care is individual, its unique to everyone. Take the time to figure out what works for you and integrate it in to your day or week.

I am going to start reading again.  In a chaotic household with a Husband and 3 young kids, reading gives me time and space to relax and unwind – heaven!

Mind yourselves x

Very true. The longer these lockdowns go on the greater the need for positive attitudes and awareness of personal needs. Never be afraid to reach out to friends and colleagues when life gets tough . You will find people able and willing to assist you through these strange and unpredictable circumstances. Keep safe
