Taking our walks to the world

It was terrific this last week to again have the opportunity to showcase Park Trek’s beautiful multi-day walks to the world at the 2024 Australian Tourism Exchange, held in Naarm / Melbourne. ?

From 19 to 23 May 2024, Park Trek representatives met with around 100 buyers from every continent on earth. ?The event was attended by around 1,500 Australian seller delegates and 700 buyer delegates from over 30 countries.

Growing demand for immersive ecotourism experiences in Australia

There is growing international demand for immersive eco-tourism experiences globally, and Australia is very much seen as a destination of choice for obvious reasons. As well as our vibrant and culturally rich cities, Australia offers stunning natural landscapes and a rich cultural history.

Indeed, Australia is home to the world’s longest continuous culture on earth, that of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and also some of the world’s most significant geological and archeological sites, including the Ediacaran region of South Australia.

What better way to experience Australia than to book-end a visit to one of our great cities, with an immersive multi-day small group walking experience in one of our spectacular landscapes? This is an offer that international buyers are seeking, and it was a privilege to share Park Trek’s offer.

Park Trek’s unique offer to international travelers

For these international buyers Park Trek has a unique service offering that is very compelling. Indeed, our blended focus on walking and wellness, sustainability and culture is something that resonates with more and more travellers, both local and international, particularly post-COVID.

Our overarching purpose is to provide inspiring eco-experiences that seamlessly combine nature and wellness. We do this by offering small-group (max of 10 guests and 2 guides), day-pack only guided walks that:

  1. Are meticulously designed to incorporate the ‘highlights’ of the region whilst immersing and connecting our guests in iconic and special regions;
  2. Are led by highly experienced and accredited guides who care for / host our guests from initial pick up (in a convenient city location) to final drop off at the same point 4-8 days later;
  3. Incorporate unique off-park and sustainable accommodation that is authentic and supports and promotes the local communities where we walk (e.g. lighthouses, farms, eco-lodges);
  4. Offer tasty, nutritious and homestyle meals cooked with pride and love by our extraordinary guides that are served in a fun group setting that promotes a group connecting dynamic;
  5. Incorporate local attractions and artisanal offerings so that our guests get a true sense of the local communities where we wander (this might, for instance, include local cheesemakers, oyster producers, bakers, vineyards and distilleries);
  6. Are conducted with highly sustainable travel mindset that is respectful of Indigenous and local communities in line with our reconciliation and good corporate citizen values; and
  7. Are otherwise all-inclusive (other than for alcohol) so our guests can relax and focus on immersing and enjoying natural surrounds.

Wrap up

It was a great 5 days showcasing the very special multi-day guided day-pack only walks that we offer our wonderful guests. We met some great humans from all round the world, including our friends from the Torres Straits with whom we hope to collaborate.

We look forward to walking with more international guests seeking authentic and meaningful eco-based experiences in Australia.
