Taking our mission forward with Project 24

We all know the importance of water, 60% of our body is made from it (73% of our brain too!), we're advised to drink 2ltrs a day, and basically it's essential to living. We use it to clean ourselves, clothes and dishes and cook with all year round, and with summer on the way we'll use even more by topping up paddling pools, the occasional water fight and keeping our drinks cool.
But for some, they don't have that luxury... Did you know that 1 in 8 people worldwide don't have access to clean, safe drinking water?
Some have to walk miles for a single glass of water, they have to take enough water to last them a month each time and in most of these cases, the water is barely sanitary enough to drink safely, and the risk of diseases like typhoid fever and cholera is high. This vicious cycle leads to multiple medical problems, and with no clean water around to treat patients, it is estimated that 4,000 children die each day due to water-related illness.
So as you can see, clean water is a pretty big deal.
Our mission: "To improve comfort, safety and quality of life for people around the world through our expertise in a wide range of water technologies"
Using the above mission and putting it into practice, we teamed up with the Planet Water Foundation in their overall mission to support over 650,000 people over 12 countries. Working alongside 23 other companies, Watts Water Technologies took part in Project 24 on World Water Day (22nd March 2016)- the installation of 24 AquaTower water filtration systems across 5 different countries, which will in turn will help almost 25,000 lives. Each tower provides clean, safe water for 1,000 people, per day. Alongside this, Project 24 delivers lifesaving water-health and hygiene education programs to school children in these communities, not only educating them om how to stay safe, but also build their futures through enabling them to go to school and not miss time from water-related illness.
You can read more about Watts Water Technologies involvement in Project 24 here. Remember, everybody needs water to live, it's not a luxury, its a necessity. So do your bit, save water you don't need to use, and maybe put those savings towards helping somebody who doesn't have that choice.
Improve comfort, safety and quality of life for people around the world, that's the Watts Water Technologies mission.
