Taking A Leap Of Faith: Doubling Our Efforts for Justice Through Skydiving

Taking A Leap Of Faith: Doubling Our Efforts for Justice Through Skydiving

Last year, inspired by the daring leaps in films and games like "Assassin's Creed," I took my first skydiving plunge for a noble cause: raising money to support individuals unable to afford legal representation.

The experience was not only thrilling but also immensely fulfilling, as I successfully gathered £5,000 in donations.

This year, on the 21st of July, weather permitting, I am returning to the skies.

This time, my goal is ambitious: to double last year's amount, aiming for £10,000—£1.00 for every foot of our jump.

The Cause

The funds we raise will support the London Legal Support Trust, an organization dedicated to ensuring that no one is denied legal aid due to financial constraints.

Legal representation can significantly alter an individual's life, yet many cannot afford it. This event aims to bridge that gap.

This Year's Event

This year’s skydive, dubbed the leap of faith, will see Team Skydiving Divas taking the plunge. Alongside me will be Ekua Cant, a formidable and fearless young woman, who shares commitment to the cause.

Meet Ekua Cant

Ekua, a recent law graduate, is passionate about human rights and equal access to justice. Her decision to join this skydiving event stems from her dedication to these principles, and she hopes to inspire others to support and engage in similar causes.

Why Skydive for Charity? Lessons in Leadership

Skydiving for charity not only fulfills a thrill-seeking desire but also aligns with deeper, personal goals such as:

  • Leadership mindset skills
  • Overcoming fears, "feel the fear and do it anyway"
  • Building resilience, and leading by example.
  • It opens doors for discussions on important issues like gender and racial diversity in charitable activities.
  • And helps me tick off one more thing on my bucket list.

Training and Preparation

Preparation for the skydive involves mental preparation, and learning critical safety protocols. These steps ensure that we not only enjoy the event but also return safely.

Last Year's Success

Reflecting on last year's success, the £5,000 raised played a crucial role in supporting several cases through the London Legal Support Trust. The impact of these funds was profound, offering a lifeline to those in dire need of legal assistance.

Goals for This Year

This year, with a target of £10,000, we aim to engage a broader audience and encourage more widespread support through social media campaigns and community involvement, and looking to raise the equivalent to £1.00 per foot jumped.

The Bigger Picture

The contributions we gather go directly to aiding those who are least able to fight for their legal rights. Stories from past beneficiaries highlight the transformative impact of these funds, altering lives and allowing for fairer legal outcomes.

How to Support

Support can come in various forms—financial donations are most critical, but spreading the word is a huge help and please donate - every little bit helps us move closer to our target.

Rewards for Donors

To show our appreciation, donors will receive exclusive updates and insights into both our preparation process and the skydive itself. Higher-tier donors will receive additional recognitions, such as mention in our promotional materials.

We will also share last year's" Leap Of Faith" video, and when we've done it - 2024's,?Donate Here
