Taking the Layered Security Message to Infosecurity Europe

Taking the Layered Security Message to Infosecurity Europe

The past few months have been a non-stop rollercoaster ride of data breaches, election ‘hacking’ scandals and escalating compliance concerns. A government report from last month claimed over two-thirds (68%) of large firms had been hit by a cyber attack or breach in the past 12 months, and there’s no let-up in sight.

Facing down this diverse set of challenges requires clear strategic thinking and a trusted partner that can offer comprehensive layered protection.

Threats are everywhere

Cyber threats today can come from virtually anywhere. Groups many have linked to state-sponsored operations, like Pawn Storm, are as prolific and aggressive as ever, attacking a wide range of public and private sector organisations. Then there are the financially motivated cybercrime gangs. Organisations as diverse as Wonga, Netflix, Debenhams Flowers and even Google and Facebook have been breached, scammed or otherwise placed on the receiving end of carefully crafted attacks.

Whether its crippling ransomware, BEC scams, IP theft or customer data breaches, the variety and volume of cyber threats facing firms of all sizes has never been so great.

The XGen approach

Firms need to take a layered approach to security, combining multiple threat defence techniques. Trend Micro’s XGen approach does just this, but crucially powers each layer with industry-leading threat intelligence, which is shared throughout to enable truly connected defence between networks, hybrid cloud and end user.
