Hi LinkedIn Friends,?
Welcome back to my newsletter. Today, I want to dive into the importance of taking a holistic approach to commercial real estate. In our ever-evolving industry, focusing on just one aspect of your business is no longer enough. To truly thrive, you must consider the bigger picture and integrate all facets of your operations, strategy, and technology.?
A holistic approach in CRE means understanding how every component of your business interconnects and impacts overall performance. This perspective allows you to make more informed decisions, anticipate challenges, and seize opportunities more effectively.?
Here are some key areas to consider:?
Taking a holistic approach to CRE isn't just a strategy; it's a mindset. By looking at the big picture and integrating all aspects of your business, you can drive growth, optimize performance, and ensure long-term success. ?
I encourage you to take some time and conduct an internal audit. Evaluate how well your current systems, processes, and strategies are integrated. Identify gaps and areas for improvement. Then be sure to regularly review and adjust your strategies based on market changes, performance metrics, and opportunities you uncover.?
What are some holistic strategies you've implemented in your CRE business? Share your experiences and insights in the comments.?

Last week saw significant rate movements despite a quiet transactional front due to the holiday. The curve steepened with 2-year Swaps down 15 BPS and 10-year Swaps down 12 BPS, creating a 60 BPS inversion. Overnight SOFR remains steady at 5.32%.?
Key economic data included slight improvements in JOLTS numbers and a low ISM Services reading of 48.8. June's payroll figures exceeded expectations, but downward revisions for the previous two months drove rates down.?
The market has priced in two rate cuts for 2024, with a near-certain cut in December and four additional cuts totaling 185 BPS for 2025. Powell’s testimony this week will be critical.?
Consider short-term hedges now as anticipated rate cuts will affect pricing. Execute hedges even if you expect rates to drop, with the option to blend rates down later.?
