Taking breaks

Taking breaks

As summer approaches, many people are winding down, planning vacations, and looking forward to a well-deserved break. However we are gearing up for one of the busiest seasons of the year, we love it when others take a break, it’s our chance to get ahead. While others may be relaxing on beaches or exploring new destinations, our team is hard at work, ensuring that we provide uninterrupted service and support to our valued clients.

I’m not saying don’t take holidays…you should, the World’s an amazing place, so get out and experience it. We travel…a lot, but we’re always available. We understand that business never truly takes a holiday. Opportunities and challenges can arise at any time, and that is why we are committed to being available 24/7, and so are our advisors. Our team is prepared to handle any situation that comes our way, ensuring that business needs are met, and more importantly opportunities are realised. From critical issues that require immediate attention to routine inquiries, I’m always on the other end of the phone.

Travel has always given me the chance to get into a different environment, see how other people live, discover new opportunities, and draw inspiration from new sources. I love sport, and love studying athletes stories. The mindset required to get to the top levels of sport, is something worth checking out. Success leaves clues and with plenty of sport on over the Summer, there’s no shortage of places to find clues. From the Euros, to Wimbledon, the Olympics, the Golf, you’ll see people who didn’t take breaks, people who went to training on Sunday’s, who sacrificed Christmas days, or family events, people who done what it takes.

Everyone has a choice, but success takes sacrifices. Leanne and I don’t believe in work-life balance, but success has afforded us a level of freedom. Our businesses continue to operate without us needing to physically be there. We trust our people and have systems in place to support being remote. As long as we have a phone signal, and wi-fi, were in the game and ready to work. The laptop lifestyle wasn’t for us, but being able to travel, experience great things, and run successful businesses is exactly what we want.

Today, even with Scotland’s big game on, if my phone rings, or something comes up at one of our businesses, the game will go off, and I’ll take action, not because I want to, but because that’s what’s expected of me.

While people slow down, we speed up, it’s how we get ahead.
