Taking on the Advertising Industry with FCB

Inigo members recently had the opportunity to visit the FCB Chicago office to learn more about the opportunities within PR and advertising agencies post-graduation. FCB is a global advertising agency that creates advertising initiatives and other forms of content for brands within healthcare, consumer package-goods and entertainment industries. With over nine offices across North America and more than 120 offices worldwide, FCB has made a significant impact on the advertising industry through their high-quality work. FCB creates their content guided by the concept of Never Finished which has allowed them to create a plethora of award-winning campaigns.?

Our visit started with a tour of the office where Inigoans had the opportunity to explore the spaces where FCB professionals collaborate and produce their work. Following the tour of the office, the Inigo team heard from a panel of FCB creatives and account executives who use their expertise and skills to develop award-winning campaigns.??

Aniya Davis, Anna Cabello, Micheal O’Neill, Nidhi Shenoy and Kiristen Heglin not only shared the projects they have worked on, but they also provided the agency with insight into their roles as well as the important functions that copywriting, design, project management and account teams have within FCB. They also shared advice when it comes to building client relationships, navigating the twists and turns of the agency process and being open to receiving feedback from clients and peers. ?

Following the Panel, our team picked the brains of some Inigo alumni currently working at FCB: Salvatore Carcagno , Eleanor Carignan, M.S. , Natalie Doyle and Bethany Valente . Each alum shared their journey from a student-run agency to a global advertising firm and gave Inigoans advice on gaining industry experience, building connections within the industry and using our Inigo experience to our advantage.?
