So, there we have it - UK out of Europe; Scotland overwhelmingly voted to stay in, and Westminster has absolutely no plan for Brexit. Oops. Actually, a total disaster and dereliction of duty, on so many levels; not least pandering to racism, xenophobia and a totally misplaced representation of the EU and our place in it.
Taken from the SNP's web site:
While Westminster is engulfed in political turmoil and party infighting, the SNP Scottish Government is working tirelessly to deliver what Scotland voted for – to stay in the EU.
Here’s how.
1. The Scottish Government is seeking immediate discussions with EU countries and institutions to explore all options to protect Scotland’s place in Europe.
2. An advisory panel made up of a range of experts who can advise the Scottish Government on legal, financial and diplomatic matters is being established. The advisory panel will involve voices from across the political spectrum in Scotland, including different views on Scotland’s constitutional future.
3. If it becomes clear that independence is the best way to secure Scotland’s place in the EU then it will be on the table and will be a decision for the people of Scotland to take. The necessary legislation for a second independence referendum is being prepared to ensure that it is a deliverable option.
4. EU citizens that are living here in Scotland are being reassured that they remain welcome here. The consuls general of all EU member states have been invited to a summit at Bute House to reassure them that their citizens living in Scotland remain welcome.
5. An intensive programme of engagement is being undertaken to reassure people in Scotland, particularly businesses, concerned about the result. Scottish Government Ministers are talking to Scotland’s businesses to reassure them that as of now Scotland remains firmly in the EU - trade and business should continue as normal.

8 å¹´I m with David on this Bill, I think Scotland will find a way to stay in the EU in some form. I think Scotland understands that it can muddy the waters for the UK Brexit negotiating team, once they have some political direction. Meanwhile carpe diem , Scotland as I know has built long standing relationships in Europe at every level and it will call in every favour possible, knowing there is a great deal of support in Scotland for FM making the case for Scotland to remain in Europe , and if Europe asks Scotland to hold a second independence referendum in return for continued membership the local debate will be very different.
David, Scotland voted 'overwhelmingly' to stay in the UK too! The SNP understands that it cannot negotiate anything over the next 2-3 years and pretending to do so is mudding the waters for the electorate. Let BREXIT be completed (or not!) and then poll for independence. This is the only way that the people of Scotland will have a clear choice. And when they ask that question perhaps they should tag on the little question of "In or Out of Europe?" because if the rest of the UK is "out" and doing OK then maybe the 1M+ folk who voted this time may be joined by others. No as a scottish taxpayer can the SNP get on with running the bread and butter stuff.
