HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
As one of my new years resolutions, I decided to spread the love about one of the things I care deeply about… Surprise!! Surprise!!
The struggles of the poor forest communities that live in the Amazon rainforest. That is why I am supporting a campaign on Crowdfunder to raise funds to support poor forest communities in the Amazon.
The campaign is being run through Preen Planet Ventures Foundation that is a UK registered charity that I am a founder of and volunteer for.
?What do we want to achieve with this fundraiser?
We are empowering poor forest communities to get back on their feet after the Covid pandemic and adapt to climate change.
They need financial?support to reignite the production of forest fruits: Acai Berry and Brazil Nuts, that stopped due to the pandemic
They need to repair and service their machinery: pulp extraction plant and transport, before the next harvest so they don’t loose the fruit for a second year in a row!!

?Why should we care?
We care deeply because they protect the forests that benefit us all. The Amazon is the largest forest in the world and we all need it for a stable?climate, for water and the oxygen we breath. These communities protect the forests by extracting fruits that do not require felling the trees. If they?cannot get back to this nature-friendly form of livelihood, they will have no other choice but to cut the trees for?timber to make a living or even worse, go and work for a cattle farmer that burns the forest down to make way for more cattle.
So by supporting these people we are safeguarding the future of the planet and ultimately, the life and health of our children.

We have the ambitious target to raise ￡25 K. But we will be grateful to raise any amount.
Our money will go a long way to help the Community of Cazumba in the Amazon to restart the production of Acai Berry this year restoring?employment and getting back on their feet after the pandemic. If we raise the full amount we will be able to help improve the electricity generation facilities.?And that would be amazing!
