Nowadays, it seems like everybody's hustlin' and bustlin' trying to keep up with the fast pace of the work grind. Stress, worry, and those worn out feelings are more common than a barrel of monkeys at the county fair. But I'm here to tell ya, ignoring our mental well-being is a recipe for disaster – leading to low job satisfaction, strained relationships with our loved ones, and even physical ailments can come a-knockin'.
But don't worry, there's a new way of thinkin' that's spreading like wildfire in communities like ours - the notion of a heart-centered business. It's built on treating folks with empathy, compassion, and good ol' fashioned care. Recognizing that employees and those we outsource tasks to aren’t just cogs in a machine, but real human beings with real feelings and needs.
Now, how's a heart-centered workplace gonna help keep our minds right, you might ask? Well, let me lay it out for ya:
1. Open communication and listening with both ears: Encouraging folks to speak up about their mental struggles and really hearing them out without judgement. That's how we start breakin' down those stigmas.
2. Flexible schedules: Offering up flexible hours, the chance to work from home some days, and plenty of paid time off. That'll take a load off and help maintain that work-life balance.
3. Mental health resources: Havin' counselors and such on hand, and programs to help employees take care of their mental well-bein' before problems even arise.

4. Mindfulness practices: Bringing in yoga, meditation, and other relaxation techniques right into the workplace. A lil breathing and stretching can go a long way.
5. Leadin' by example: When the bosses and managers walk the walk and make their own mental health a priority, it sets a mighty fine example for the rest of the crew.
By embracing' this heart-centered way of doin' business, communities and companies can create a supportive environment where employees feel valued, understood, and free to focus on their mental well-being without fear. And you know what that leads to? Happier, healthier, and more productive workers - which is good for everybody's bottom line.
In this fast-paced world, it's high time we all started takin' our mental health just as seriously as our physical health. By bringing more heart into our work communities, we can create a compassionate and caring place that allows folks to truly thrive. Because at the end of the day, a happy mind leads to a happy life - and you can't put a price on that.

5 个月Spot on Mike. I believe not only will this benefit employees but will create a work environment where many employees who otherwise felt excluded, marginalized or invisible, the opportunity to fulfil their potential. I firmly believe businesses in America are leaving huge amounts of wasted potential behind not exploring the opportunities you presented in this piece. Productivity would skyrocket. I’m convinced of it.

5 个月It is definitely part of my passion and mission to make sure that people are taking care of their minds. Minds often overlook?. And often this week to burn out, and in severe cases tragedies, I could never be undone. We need to continue to work to eradicate the stigma that exists around mental health and well-being, as well as mental health diagnoses. Mike Ashabraner.
