It takes time to paint a portrait.
It builds layer upon layer. It begins to flesh out. Along the way, there are adjustments. We right a line that went too far or not far enough. We alter a color or change it completely. We add sparkle and brilliance to what we want to highlight and shine. We tone down what needs to tone down to find the balance we’re looking for.
Growing in a new language is like making a portrait. It takes time to add layer upon layer. We go adding and changing and bettering little by little, and each time more precisely. Along the way, we're different versions of the experience.?The painter stops at some point. Puts down her brush. It's finished. Unlike an actual painted portrait though, we'll continue to refine. There is no finished product. We are always a work in progress.
