It takes time for negatives to develop

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
My life mentor is always saying, “It takes 17 positive thoughts to cancel out 1 negative thought.” Think about this, if you are 63 years old and you just decide having positive thinking today, you have to dissect your negative psychology that you have for another 21 years. That’s a lot of years if you manage to stay alive till then after 85. Negative thinking originates from a place of lack. This mental limitation tends to deter higher emotional development.
A person with an undeveloped emotional awareness tend to limit their way of thinking as the end all for how the person understands their reality and the world at large. Thus; it is difficult for the person to believe they have the ability to change their circumstances. The person does not really understand the difference between positive thinking versus negative thinking because their form of lack represents a “truth” to themselves as an identity issue that needs attention. Some people will fabricate a reason of blame or a logical excuse as to why their negative thinking is justified. So they remain self-unaware.
I realized many years ago that negative thinking does not solve anything. Other than making myself feel better about non-sense, the problem still remained which was my negative way of thinking. Feeling better about non-sense is a fear of the unknown which is really about creating a belief system based on being afraid of nothingness. Having positive thinking takes a lot of practice. And practice requires patience. You need to patiently practice having positive thinking for 100 consecutive days to have an optimistic lifestyle and unleash your greatness!
Positive thinking is based on a personal determination of what you believe to be true. Positive psychology is based on science. Whether the “truth” is in fact a truth or a fallacy, the person creates their emotional feelings based on this acceptance. Most every person has a negative thought one time or another. This is temporary in nature. The negative thought becomes a problem, a personal problem, when the person is unable to distinguish their negative emotional / feeling from their own sense of worth and will continue on the negative “thought train” as a means to survive from their emotional tirade.
I realized that the only way to switch from having negative thoughts to positive thoughts was to actually think differently in real terms. I viewed my thoughts from an objective perspective and noticed a clear difference from a negative versus a positive mentality. Positive is more about a brighter attitude and a loving presence which tends to provide a greater self-awareness level and a fulfilment towards life. In turn, the bouts of fear changes into opportunities to learn rather than opportunities to fail.
Negative is about a fixated attitude and an underlying hatred which leads to a limited awareness into the loneliness of only what the person wants to believe. In turn, the bouts of fear are feelings of despair. There was a lot of momentum to my negative thinking which took me a while to turn in the other direction. Like a fast moving train, first you become aware and second you start shifting the thoughts from negative to positive. Gradually and consistently I now have predominantly positive thoughts and only a few negative thoughts. Cheers!
