ALL-STAR GAME HIGHLIGHTS

This month, the MLB, WNBA, and MLS all hosted their All-Star Games in Dallas, Phoenix, and Columbus, respectively.?The MLB All-Star game saw the American League beat the National League by a score of 5-3. The WNBA All-Stars bested the USA Basketball team by a score of 117-109, with Arike Ogunbowale scoring a record 34 points on the Team WNBA side. The MLS All-Stars took on the Liga MX All-Stars in a game that saw 5 goals - only one of which came from the MLS side. The Liga MX All-Stars pulled away with it starting in the 68th minute, where they netted two back-to-back goals and ended up winning the game by a score of 4-1. This was the first loss the MLS has succumbed to in the All-Star game since the first time the two sides faced off in 2021.

The MLB All-Star Game saw 7.6 million viewers - a 6% increase from the previous year's audience. This year, the WNBA All-Star Game drew 3.4 million viewers - more than doubling the previous record of 1.441 million from 2003. The MLS All-Star game saw 20,931 attendees which was a sellout crowd as well as a Lower.com Field record.

Overall, All-Star numbers this summer are on the rise. These stats show that All-Star games continue to be a quality investment for the leagues, teams, and brands.?

COPA AMéRICA & EUROS HIGHLIGHTS

Over the last two months, the Copa América and the Euros took place in the United States and Germany, respectively.?

This year's Copa América final took place in Miami, FL, and drew the largest audience for Univision in a decade, with 6.35 million total viewers. Argentina secured the win over Colombia in extra time when Laurato Martinez scored in the 112th minute to put Argentina up, although Messi left the game injured in the first half.

The Euro final, where Spain took on England, took place in Munich, Germany. The 2024 final set the record for the most-watched EURO Telecast with 6.43 million viewers on FOX. Spain's Lamine Yamal set the tone in the final when he assisted Nico Williams for Spain's first goal. England tied it up with a goal in the 73rd minute off a beautiful strike from Cole Palmer, but Spain closed out the match with a sliding finish from Oyarzabal in the 86th minute. This year's Euros had 13 global partners and five national sponsors who contributed to the commercial rights revenue of $613.6 million that UEFA anticipated from the tournament.

TRAJEKTORY TAKES ON THE MLS ALL-STAR GAME

Last week, several team members headed out to Columbus for the MLS All-Star Game, including our sales team who drove nearly 6 hours from Chicago. They enjoyed watching the skills competition on Wednesday night and catching up with some of our MLS friends. Although they were sad that the MLS All-Stars couldn't secure the win, they still had a great time over the last few days and can't wait for next year!
