FIFA Women's World Cup

Highlights from the Group Stage

The FIFA Women's World Cup kicked off last Thursday, July 20th with the opening match between New Zealand and Norway, resulting in New Zealand winning their first-ever World Cup game – and on home soil!

We've been watching the games, but our marketing team split down the middle when it comes to supporting the USA and Canada.

USA-star, Sophia Smith, is showing that she's ready for the World Cup stage scoring two goals in her debut leading the team to their 3-0 win over Vietnam.?

Canada was missing their talented midfielder, Jessie Fleming, and tied 0-0 to Nigeria with an upsetting penalty miss from the goat, Christine Sinclair.?

After watching the games so far, our predictions show the US being a strong contender as always but don't sleep on Japan and Brazil. The games have seen impressive attendance numbers, we're excited to dig into the in-stadium data and see what the value is for the in-stadium sponsors. ?????

July Highlights

SEAT Conference & Panel

This July, we attended the Seat Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, and hosted the Driving Sponsorship Revenue through Data & Insights panel. During the panel, we chatted about the challenges of sponsorship reporting and how Trajektory has helped our clients alleviate these hurdles by providing easy access to valuation data all season long.

We were happy to see so many new and familiar faces join us! Thank you to the SEAT Conference and Josh Barney for hosting us and putting on a great event. A special thanks to our panel guests, Peter Bach (Seahawks), Juliana Rogers (Top Golf) and Joe Dupriest (NextUp Partners). We can't wait for the next one!

A New Star Emerges at Wimbledon ??

Earlier this month, 20-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz took home his first Wimbledon trophy, defeating Djokovic in a come-from-behind win. Alcaraz started down after the first set and was able to put himself back in a position to win in the second set. After a back-and-forth battle between the two, Alcaraz came away with the win over Djokovic, 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

Alcaraz has proved he is capable of being one of tennis's up-and-coming stars and someone that fans around the world will have their eye on for years to come. We're looking forward to seeing more of what he has to offer and seeing what brands might sponsor his likeness – he comes with a younger audience that will be an interesting group for brands to tap into.?

Congrats, Carlos! ??
