Take your Business, Values & Expertise into the classroom & discussion with other leaders! Show your support for our next generation!

For a minute, think about your child's classroom experience. Are they overwhelmed, do they need extra help? Are other students needing assistance?

I give a lot of credit towards the amazing teachers we have in our communities. To become a teacher and spend your time teaching our young ones is an amazing choice for a lifetime commitment of growth to our next generation. To me, it is a partnership to assist our next generation. Our communities, resources and talents are all interdependent on one another and the more support our young ones receive, the better

What are we doing as leaders in our community to assist the next generation to support fully their educational needs? There are many ways you can support your community!

1. Become involved: support your local Boys and Girls Club, become a member of the PTA, join conversations in your community meetings, see how your business can start mentorships with local organizations.

2. Volunteer: Start with one hour a month in your child's classroom, see how your business can sponsor a healthy discussion, an outreach program, a book program, a fundraiser for training for teachers, etc. Our young ones need to see us participating in our community! They need to know they are fully supported!

3. Leaders can educate and bring awareness: If you are a leader in your community, use quick snapshots of statistics in your community. Talk as a group on how to become more supportive of the local schools integration of support services/options for students. Use your passion and areas of expertise and expand this out. Giving back to the community not only helps students but is self-rewarding.

4. Share your resources: If you are an educator (tutoring programs, enrichment programs, etc.) Extend your resources out towards others. Share your resources, network and find ways to extend your passion outward. Get out of your comfort zone, find other like-minded service providers and host events, activities and services that can impact a variety of youth!

5. Write about it!: Blog your experience, share your experience with social media. One great idea can lead to many others being able to expand their awareness and create support as well! There is nothing wrong with your business showing support and stepping up to the plate for our next generation

Our children deserve to have additional support. When someone takes the time to assist with the development of a student, not only does that student grows but so do we. Many of us have so many talents that we are underutilizing. Maybe we get lost in the day to day; maybe we are so focused on ourselves that we forget about the daily gifts that are in the classrooms. How can you use your talents, passions and expertise to get more involved in the classroom, after school programs, mentorship, community discussions?
