Given these tough times when your home life and work life are now one big juggle, we need to make sure we get an escape now and again.
I just wanted to highlight the amazing work of a growing legion of VR artists. Thanks to ever improving technology, once sketchy looking sketches are now intricate works of art.
New levels of animation and plug-in professional sound design, are now added to the mix to offer amazing VR shorts, that are perfect for escaping the lock-down blues.
If you have access to an app via an VR head set that offers the ability to view these marvels, like the Quill VR Theater, then you can put yourself in the middle of these creations. As a small 'virtual remote control' allows you to shift the scene and your point view or position within it, to allow a powerful feeling of drifting deeper into the experience.
I tried the one above earlier today, via the Oculus Quest, which has the 'Quill Theater' installed as an app. It's the latest release from Matt Schaefer, who is best known for his Alex's Sci-Fi World work. It was a great way to wind down for ten minutes or so. It took Matt 12-15 hours to produce this.
