To Take Time
Without getting too hippy-dippy on you, "not that there is anything wrong with that" (any Seinfeld fans still out there?), I would like to pose a reminder for you of some of the things we forget to do when life "gets in the way". I was inspired to create the following reminders based on a single passage from a bookmarker that my mom asked me to keep in my car to keep me safe while I am behind the wheel. Thanks for the years of support, caring, and unconditional love Mom!
Here is what that one simple passage inspired in me and reminded me not to forget.
Remember to...
Take Time to Be Mindful
* Mindfulness is the practice of making yourself acutely aware of everything around you
* Microfocus on just one thing (I.e. a flower, a turtle, the architecture of your fireplace, your palm), make observations, and ask yourself questions
Take Time to Breathe
* Breathing intently in and out from the diaphragm (not the lungs) will clear your head, calm your person, and improve your general health
Take Time to Self-Reflect
* Get to know yourself...again
Take Time to Express Gratitude
* Giving thanks allows your person and your soul to give and accept
Take Time to Play
* As they say, it is the pause that refreshes
* And it's the key to eternal youth
Take Time to Read
* Knowledge is power
Take Time to Write
* Creative expression is freeing
Take Time to Be Nice
* Because it is easier than being nasty
Take Time to be Friendly
* Social relationships are the fabric of our connective lives
Take Time to Laugh
* Laughter is sharing your inner goodness and it truly is contagious
Take Time to Give
* Life is too short to be overtly selfish
Take Time to Love and Be Loved
* It is a privilege that we all have equal access to
I wish you all strength and health of mind and body. When your mind and body are 'right', you transcend AND without even trying you inspire others to do the same!
