Take time to appreciate when someone shows unexpected appreciation

Sincere and unexpected appreciation is the BEST! I had a customer take the time to leave me a voice note that was over a minute long. Usually, I get irritated at long voice notes because it takes time to focus and listen (yes, I know, I’m sorry), but this time it was different!
It was honest! It was sincere! It was specific! And it was certainly unexpected! The fact that this person took time out of her day to send me a thoughtful message meant so much to me. Maybe because most appreciation is just a “thank you†or quick obligatory sentiment.
My dad gets messages from unexpected people that he will forward to me from time to time and it always gives me the feels! I love knowing that people see and appreciate things even when we don’t remember that we did them or why we did them. Maybe it’s God’s way of saying, I’m watching and you are doing great. So the next time someone gives you unexpected and sincere appreciation, savor it! And be the person who gives it!
