Take Some You and Alone Time

We often have a huge to-do list! It feels good to put a checkmark when we accomplish a task. Now let’s go for the next item on the list. Responsibilities fill our lives, whether we work full time, own a business, are a parent or a caregiver. Yet what about the responsibility you have to take care of yourself?
Schedule You Time
A psychic colleague was the one who gave me the idea to schedule what I need to do for myself on my calendar. This way if someone wants an appointment at that time, sorry I’m booked!
An example is, I walk for a mile or more first thing in the morning, well after I feed my five cats. Then I eat my breakfast and drink coffee. My walk is a must for me; therefore, any work, clients, or appointments happen afterward.

Why You Need Alone Time
For some people, alone time to discover who you are may seem terrifying. Decades ago, I was friends with a popular woman. There were times I was envious of how many people were always calling her and getting together. She was always on the go. One day, I was at her apartment with another friend. She couldn’t sit down; instead she was dusting the leaves on her plants! Her actions made me realize how afraid she was to be still and to be alone with her thoughts.
I’d like to point out that it’s important to be alone at times. Why? When you’re alone, you get to know yourself. You get in touch with your thoughts, feelings, intuition, and daytime/nighttime dreams. This isn’t always comfortable. A former teacher used to say, “When you bring the demons to the light, they go away.” So acknowledge your demons, do the work, and watch them go away.

Benefits of Alone You Time
For one thing, you will never ever dust plant leaves! Relationships with others are important. However, you will learn how to be alone without being lonely.
