Starting a business can be compared to taking a ride on the highest, fastest roller coaster you can find. You see, both the person riding the roller coaster and the person who is starting a business will feel an overwhelming sense of anticipation when the ride first begins. Then before they know it, they begin feeling uneasy as the first drop comes into view. While both the rider and the business owner are still feeling excited a bit of fear may be setting in as well.
As the roller coaster reaches the first drop, both the rider and the business owner understand that they are now committed to continuing on whether or not they like it. Both may try to relax at this point, taking a deep breath, but in a matter of seconds, they are approaching the next drop. As they go down the huge drop and are jerked around with all of the turns, they have no idea what is coming next, but they have to trust that they were correct in starting the adventure.
If you are someone who has had to overcome a fear of roller coasters, then you can relate when I tell you that the risk you took was worth the feeling that you felt when the ride ended. Any entrepreneur that has been successful, will tell you that they have felt the same feeling. I personally am on this terrifying and exhilarating ride from the first day I started working on my app, and it's just the beginning of my journey.
There are so many benefits that come with taking a risk and starting your own business. One great benefit is that you are able to give back to your community because the relationship between the community that you live in and your business is quite special.
It is small businesses that promote internal growth in communities, they provide communities with jobs giving others the chance to work, and they stimulate growth within the community. Of course, the community is going to benefit from the tax dollars that are paid by the business, but when you make sure that you are giving back to communities, you are going to be gaining the loyalty of those in the community, turning them into regular customers.
If there is an economic crisis, large businesses are going to be hit the hardest while most local businesses are able to adapt to the situation because of their loyal customers.
Another benefit of starting your own business is that you are creating your own opportunity which is going to not only allow you to pursue your own passion but to be your own boss as well. There are so many people in our world that do not like their jobs but lack the courage to quit because they are afraid of the risk.
Having the ability to say that you created a successful business is very rewarding. While we live in a time where there is a lot of uncertainty, when you start your own business, you are able to take control of the direction that your business is going and ensure that it adheres to your vision. Trusting yourself to take the risk and doing everything in your power to make it a success will ensure that it will be.
Good luck!
